Zoning

What Is an HVAC Zoning System?

An HVAC zoning system divides your home into separate areas or “zones” and allows each one to be heated or cooled independently. Instead of one thermostat setting the temperature for your entire home, each zone has its own thermostat and gets exactly the conditioning it needs, when it needs it.

This is made possible through a network of motorized dampers installed in your ductwork, connected to each zone’s thermostat and managed by a central control panel. When a zone calls for heating or cooling, the panel opens the dampers to that area and closes the others directing conditioned air precisely where it belongs.

Zone control systems have been installed in homes for over 50 years and can be added to almost any type of HVAC system, whether your home is brand new or has existing equipment.

Why Homeowners Choose Zoning

Our Zoning Installation Process

1) Home Assessment

We evaluate your home’s layout, ductwork, HVAC equipment, and how you use each area of the house identifying which zones make the most sense for your specific situation.

2) System Design

We design a zoning plan based on proper airflow calculations, duct capacity, and equipment sizing following industry-standard guidelines to ensure the system is balanced and effective.

3) Damper & Panel Installation

Our technicians install motorized dampers in the appropriate duct locations, wire the zone thermostats, and connect everything to the central control panel cleanly and efficiently.

4) System Commissioning

We test every zone, verify proper airflow, and confirm the system responds correctly to each thermostat making sure conditioned air is reaching the right places as intended
